Joe Geffert joined Southport in 2007 to increase the firm’s capability in electric and fire protection engineering. Prior to Southport, Joe worked for nearly two decades in nationally renowned engineering consulting firms.
Joe specializes in the engineering design of electrical distribution and controls, fire alarm, emergency generation systems, UPS and data centers (including uninterruptible power supply and power conditioning systems). Joe has undertaken project-based work in the commercial, financial, educational, industrial, hospitality, restaurant, and residential market sectors.
Joe has extensive experience in existing buildings, including due diligence investigations relating to existing building electrical distribution. Joe also designs emergency generation systems with regards to electrical loadings, system reliability, exposures to single point failures and code compliance.
Joe has a B.S. degree in electrical engineering.
