Walter Williams joined Southport in 1997 as its first mechanical engineer. Over the years, Walter has managed a steady stream of recurring clientele with their tenant fit-out needs.
Walter specializes in the design and specification of HVAC systems for new and existing residential, commercial, institutional and industrial facilities. Walter has worked in a wide range of building types including banks, hotels, laboratories, hospitals, data centers, restaurants, medical offices, educational facilities, and residential living complexes.
In addition to his core competency in HVAC, Walter also designs plumbing and fire protection systems and is heavily involved in building commissioning. Walter has a passion for energy efficiency in existing buildings, and he has participated in numerous energy audits, as well as energy analysis for performance contracting.
Walter is a registered professional engineer in Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York, as well as a member of ASHRAE and NFPA.
